MICRONEEDLING

ABOUT MICRO-NEEDLING

Micro-needling (also known as Collagen-Induction-Therapy) is a safe and effective treatment that can be used to treat such issues as;

Fine Lines

Wrinkles

Acne Scaring

Pigmentation

Best results are seen after a course of at least four treatments each conducted one month apart.

One treatment £110

Course of four treatments £370

Course of five treatments £450

Course of six treatments £520

THE SCIENCE

Micropunctures are created using microneedles which produce a controlled skin injury without actually damaging the epidermis. These micro-injuries lead to minimal superficial bleeding and set up a wound healing cascade with release of various growth factors such as platelet derived growth factor (PGF), transforming growth factor alpha and beta (TGF-α and TGF-β), connective tissue activating protein, connective tissue growth factor, and fibroblast growth factor (FGF). In turn this causes neocollagenesis (the making of new collagen). The needles also breakdown the old hardened scar strands and allow it to revascularize (reducing acne scaring).

THE PROCESS

Firstly the face is numbed with anaesthetic cream to ensure the whole process is a lot more comfortable. The skin is then cleaned with an anti-septic agent to make sure the skin is clean ready for micro-needling. The Derma-roller (1.5-2mm needle) is then gently rolled across the skin in specific patterns to cause micro-trauma’s which induces collagen production over the next few months. The created channels also allow for deep penetration of professional serums (depending on the skin issues are wanting to treat). There is minimal downtime post procedure. I advise clients not to wear makeup for the rest of the day post needling and to expect some reddening of the skin.
